LYM Projects is a curatorial platform rooted in the Lower Connecticut River Valley, dedicated to supporting contemporary and experimental art practices in dialogue with place, memory, and transformation.
Founded by artist and curator D.M. Lamer, LYM Projects brings together artists working across disciplines—painting, digital media, sculpture, writing, performance—to engage with the complexity of landscape, history, and personal narrative. Inspired by the tidal shifts of the estuary, we believe art can be both still and urgent, grounded and evolving.
We host exhibitions, residencies, and site-responsive projects that challenge conventional boundaries between artist and viewer, studio and environment, past and present. From barn shows and field installations to quiet studio salons, LYM is an invitation to consider the spaces we live in—and what they remember.
While informed by the legacies of the Lyme Art Colony and American Impressionism, LYM looks forward. We are building a new cultural infrastructure—slowly, locally, and deliberately—anchored in contemporary expression and global dialogue.
Our Vision
To establish the Lower River region as a vital landscape for contemporary art, experimentation, and long-term cultural relevance—on its own terms.
Our Name
LYM is not an acronym. It is a fragment, a sound, a river bend. Like the work we support, it resists definition while drawing from deep roots.
